Does my console need to be repaired?

E100 error generally means the console hardware is failing and a repair is required but as a last resort you could try this. You will need the account details for any accounts that use the console as they will be wiped when resetting.

Disconnect wired connection, if using, from the console before Factory resetting and remove everything. I've also turned off my WiFi while Factory resetting to ensure the console doesn't connect to internet while console resets the OS.

After the console resets and returns to the Home screen reconnect the wired connection or WiFi and allow console to connect. There will be an update to download and install if the reset is successful. If unsuccessful the console will need repairing.

Be aware that if you are in a Insiders preview ring, steps 3 & 4 (offline system update) will not work unless you unenroll from Insiders.

I have a feeling it has a hardware issue.

Oh okay. I was thinking that that would be the case. I can take my console to someone and see if they can fix the problem. I’ll let you know if it works.

I just did that option today and my console restarted and took me back to the troubleshoot screen immediately after turning back on.
