Does Microsoft still support Gears of War 2 for the 360?

Hello,

I recently had an error likely related to a 'corrupted profile' for Gears of War 2 on the XBOX 360. The game now freezes up upon starting rendering the game unplayable. I skimmed through a few thousand gears of war forum posts, and while this problem is
known, I don't know if it's common(about 1% of the Technical Support posts). I could not find a solution - hence I am writing this.

I have:

Deleted and re-installed the digital game.

Tried playing offline

Tried playing off of the disc

All result in the game freezing at the start

The only thing close to a solution involved 'tricking' your game while it was loading up another profile. I'm ok with the idea of losing the profile data, but I'm not really down with some solution that involves plugging my XBOX into a waffle iron, placing
it into direct sunlight, and flipping the light switch while chanting Bloody Mary. I did not see Gears of War 2 under Microsoft's list of "Supported Games" so the next question would be is Microsoft willing or able to patch this.

Otherwise...I'm off to get a waffle iron

Gears of War redeem code is wrong region

I have the Gears Of War 4 Limited Edition Xbox One S console. I have just now received the promo codes for Gears of War and Gears of War 2 (but not yet 3). The code for Gears of War 2 works, however the first code for Gears of War does not - it says the
wrong region. I have been online with Microsoft support trying various things and they suggested I post in here to get the promotions team to send me a new (correct) code... my system is English UK.

 

Gears of war 4 promo codes for other games 2 out of 4 not working.

Cannot redeem 2 of the 4 sent promo codes for gears of war 1 and gears of war 3. Gears of war 2 and gears of war judgement I have redeemed. Microsoft support said that they are redeemable only on xbox 360. I cannot redeem them on microsft webpage or on the
xone console.

this issue sounds like a save game issue, since it is loading fine on a different profile.

You could try deleting the save game for the Gears of War 2 game. Just be aware that offline/single player progress will be lost.

As far as I know the progress is located in the storage section inside the Games folder

I deleted the game and as a result the saved games file is no longer present, but the issue still persists.

Also, while I personally did not try a different profile, most of the posters in the gears forums stated that that was often the case for them to have a different profile work fine.

I will fool around with it some more, but thank you for a response!

 

i would contact support at the number and see if its a bug
