Does Microsoft still service the Xbox One X?

Hi there, I have an Xbox One X in my possession that was given to me by a friend for repair (I repair consoles in my spare time). It shows error E101 when attempting to update, either online or offline, and always fails during stage 1 (downloading). My best guess (without opening the system) is that it is a HDD failure.

According to Microsoft the fix is to just send it to them. However I cannot find pricing nor any mention of the Xbox one family on the repair and service page. So my question is, is the Xbox One X still serviced by Microsoft? If not, I'd rather do it myself.

Unfortunately Microsoft has gradually stopped offering repair service to Xbox One consoles, in some regions the repair is still available, the way to check it is simply by trying to create the repair order.

Submit an request at this link:

There you will see your registered devices, select the device that presents the problem and select "Next", fill in the necessary data and you will be able to create your order.

If your Xbox One X is still under warranty, it's best to send it to Microsoft.

James, do you care trying again, step by step? This is the only way you could get to the troubleshooting menu. This black screen happened to me already with two of my consoles, and it worked for me and for many other gamers, as well.

If this not work at all, might be a hardware issue.

In that case, which model is your Xbox One?

If it is the Original One, would have to take it to a repair store in your city, because, unfortunately, since it is not manufactured anymore, Microsoft does not offer repair services anymore for this model.

If it is the Xbox One S or X, you could trigger the warranty, if it still under it. In case your console do not have the warranty on it anymore, you have two options, the first would be to repair using the Microsoft's repair service, but, Microsoft charges for the repair (XBOX ONE S: $199 and XBOX ONE X: $249) or take it to a repair store in your city also.

Scarlett will be backwards compatible with Xbox One games and with Xbox 360 and Original Xbox games that Microsoft already has as an option for and for future titles. As some say, the Xbox One X is a powerful console. Whether it is the Xbox One X or Xbox
One S, I am positive Microsoft will still be supporting these consoles for years to come.

What do you mean it gives you the Xbox One X option? Have you tried getting the Game with Gold from a smartphone off of the Xbox App? What does it tell you when you try to proceed with the Xbox One X content? Let us know with a reply a bit more information
to determine how to best assist you. Also make sure you go to
Microsoft Account Services Page and confirm that you have Xbox Live Gold active on the account you are using.

Note: All games playable on Xbox One are playable in all Xbox One Models. (Original, S type, X)
