Does Microsoft actually have an consumer security?

For the last 12 hours someone has continuously been trying to gain access to my account, from halfway across the world. I have verified this is an issue every time I've received a mail about it and changed my password. How is it possible, after all these flags, someone was still allowed to "potentially" gain access to my account?

    :)

Does Microsoft actually have an consumer security?

Greetings Chris, and welcome to the Xbox Community! Connect with players from around the world, get help when you need it, and share your gaming journey.

Just a heads-up we don’t have access to any user accounts or special tools, we’re just here to share suggestions and help out where we can.

About your issue, this is pretty much something that happens to everyone, including me. It’s just one of those things you can’t really stop. What you can do is make your account more secure by using a strong password and adding extra layers of protection, like two-factor authentication (2FA).

Actually, I just took a screenshot of my account’s sign-in activity, and you can see a bunch of login attempts—most of them are probably bots trying to guess passwords or whatever.

Why does this happen? Honestly, it’s probably because our emails got leaked from some platform we’ve used, or maybe we clicked on something sketchy, replied to spam, or even signed up for a newsletter without realizing it. Once our emails are out there, it’s game over, and these bots just go wild.

At the end of the day, it’s on us to keep our accounts locked down. People (or bots) are always going to try, but if your account is secure, those attempts are just going to fail.

    Fed up and leaving Xbox!

Hate to break it to you, but Sony has a worse track record of user security than Microsoft does. We live in a time where it is important to lock your stuff down tight. Use a password locker like Last Pass to have secure passwords with a different one for
each login. It's unfortunate these things happen, but that's what consumer protection policies are for!

Is Microsoft killing the games industry?

[quote user="WILK0"]So with Microsoft now posting losses, THQ and several other companies about to go into administration, is Microsoft killing the games industry with it's focus anything and everything but games?

How is it all Microsoft's fault, if they are in the red..??? It's the consumer, that buys the Hardware & Software + as you have stated, other Developers or companies could be forced into Administration... So it's really the consumers fault... If you Support
the service you use, this shouldn't be a problem...

Losses, could also be advancements in the Services Technology &/or Security and Account Security has just been upgraded for XboxLive & Microsoft Billing recently....

So Microsoft, might of overspent, to keep your personal Information & Xbox Experience even more secure than before...

Microsoft does not care about loyal consumers

Unfortunately they aren't doing the same for me. Your consoles must have been within warranty. They assured me they make exceptions for no one (aka they don't care if you've been a Microsoft customer for a week or 10 years - your just another cog in their
    money making wheel)
