Does fps boost for old games decrease input lag?

In some selected games you can play at 120 FPS, whether old or new generation games, but this is something that also depends on the game developers, as they need to give permission for Microsoft to implement such technology in their games.

The fps boost will allow you to play games with a higher frame rate which will improve your gameplay. In some games with active technology, maybe you will notice a loss of graphic quality because with this active mode the game will prioritize the high fps rate and if necessary it will decrease the graphic quality of the game.

If the TV doesn't have a game mode, or similar, you can try turning some display enhancements off via the menu, to try and decrease the input lag.

Well no of course not it depends on the game you are playing NOT all games support 120hz

Also should be noted you MUST turn on FPS boost

the games themselves under settings from the dashboard

Most games will only support 60hz at 4k

120 Hz is an option but not universally supported

The FPS boost affects 93 games if remember correctly but ita a mixture of 60-120hz plus hdr support

Games will sometimes decrease the resolution to get 120hz btw and as said before it depends on the game

I don't think it's the gpu, let me explain. Before the 1660, i had a terrible card, but it worked fine (100fps with low graphics but no input delay). After getting the 1660 it worked for a while averaging pretty high fps. Then after a few weeks it started lagging. I tried switching to the old gpu but the input delay was there.
