    Does every game require game pass?


    I purchased a new game for my boys at Walmart. Fortnight....was told you don't need game pass. Come to find out yes I do. So now the question is... does every game purchased need game pass? I think it's crazy to buy a game, but need a $10 a month membership
    to play said game.

    I think you may be thinking of a gold subscription not Game Pass. Gold is required to play online multiplayer. Since Fortnite is an online only game it does require a gold subscription. Not all games require gold.

    You can also generally get gold cheaper by purchasing a prepaid gold card from online retailers or you can earn free gold through Microsoft Rewards.

    Xbox Game Pass, No you don’t need Game Pass for every game! However, all online games like Fortnite, Apex, Grand Theft Auto 5...etc they require xbox live gold. For a year that would be £39.99. Also, what said Fortnite required

    Game Pass Core (or Game Pass Ultimate which includes Core) is required to play online. Standard Game Pass does not include online.

    I think you over generalised there, a handful of EA games use "online pass", not every game developer agrees with this money making scheme.

    Do games claimed as 'Games with Gold' work if I've changed to Gamepass for Console

    Games with Gold would require Game Pass Core (or Ultimate, which includes Core). Since Game Pass for console does not include Core, Games with Gold games will not work with it.
