    Does anyone remember Xbox SmartGlass? I helped test it 10 years ago!


    Xbox SmartGlass was the original mobile companion app for Xbox, it was revolutionary for Xbox fans such as myself at the time. The app formed the basis of the Xbox mobile app we all know and love today.

    I'm creating this post as I had submitted extensive bug reports at the time and coordinated directly with the Xbox SmartGlass engineers to perform user testing to troubleshoot bugs and resolve issues with the app. I had even downloaded TestFlight versions of the app to my personal device to help the team make a better user experience for all fans.

    It does feel a bit shameless to ask, but does the Insider team recognise historical contributions relevant to the insider program such as this? I was happy to help at the time as a fan simply for my love of Xbox, but now we have lovely badges to honour such it seems fitting, and in the spirit of this community to share my story.

    Does anyone know if it is possible to reach out to the Insider team? If by any chance Xbox Insider Staff see my post and would like to know more, I can share the original email chains with the SmartGlass team to evidence my contribution. Thanks!     My email has changed since 2002, but my Gamertag has remained the same. Been on Live since the beta. I have fond memories of reading through alt.public.microsoft.xbox and alt.microsoft.xbox on usenet during the beta selection.

    Now, forum-wise is a whole other story. I don't remember what email I used for my forum activity back then, but I'm almost sure it's not what I'm using as of 2005, once the Xbox Live as we know it was formed and more centralized.
