Does anyone know what type of charger cable should be used for a Xbox Series X controller...

Hello,

I just got an Xbox One X and I noticed that my Rechargable battery won't charge whenever I use the black controller that came with the Xbox One X. However whenever I use my white Xbox one controller which I
bought seperately, it charges fine with no issue.

I already checked to see if the black controller needed an update but it did not. Does anyone know what the issue could be? Is my black controller not working properly? I would really like not having to switch
controllers just to charge my battery.

Note: I use a usb wall charger instead of plugging it to the xbox and works perfectly fine on my White controller. Also pluggin my black controller directly to the xbox it shows that it is "charging" but it
is not.

Maybe the cable for Xbox one S isn´t compatible to use on the controller for Xbox one X. What kind of cable are you using to charge it? I always charge my batteries with Wall Chargers, maybe will be good if you have at least 2 pairs of rechargable batteries.

Almost any USB C to USB A cable (your standard USB Phone/tablet charge cable) will work fine for PC or console gaming with a Series X type controller. I use a 2M USB C cable to connect my Series X controller to my PC.

I don't have any Bluetooth issues, but using a cable does avoid changing the batteries so much. 😁

As Obsessive Power mentioned earlier, most micro USB cables are made to transfer data on top of charging batteries, but not all micro USB cables are made to transfer data. The drivers should auto-install once you plug in the controller, and if this does
not happen then you may not be using the right cable.

In this case, many users will use the USB cable that comes with the
Xbox One Play and Charge kit thinking it should work since it's manufactured by Microsoft, but this cable is made specifically to charge the battery packs when connected to an Xbox One console and are not capable of data transfer to a PC.

Even if you are not using this specific cable, I believe this issue is being caused by the cable you are using. Try getting a different USB cable that is capable of data transfer and let us know if this makes a difference.

I know this may sound odd but have you tried using your battery and charger on another control pad?

Also does the cable allow you to play with the controller without the battery pack inserted?
