Does anyone know how to setup the Xbox Adaptive Controller on Windows 10?

I am helping setup an Xbox Adaptive Controller for my friend who has very limited movement. We are in the process of ordering a variety of switches, buttons, and joysticks for him to use, however I am struggling to setup the actual Xbox Controller. I have
successfully connected it to the desktop, and the Xbox Accessory app recognizes it. Unfortunately I am unable to get it work in some games. The controller will work with Minecraft Xbox Edition, but not the desktop version. The controller also works with Garry's
Mod. My friend is mostly interested in getting the controller to work with Minecraft (Win 10) and Fortnite. I was wondering if anyone has been able to successfully get the Xbox One Adaptive controller to work on those games on Windows 10, or any other games?
Any and all assistance will be greatly appreciated?

You can customize the adaptive controller through the Xbox Accessories App with supported accessories.

XAC doesn't work with my Sidewinder 92626 joysticks

The Adaptive Xbox controller is supported but the Sidewinder 92626 may not be. The supported joysticks and accessories are located on this page:

It would be best to customize the adaptive controller through the Xbox Accessories App with supported accessories. Some details on how to do it can be found here: Customize the Xbox Adaptive Controller in the Xbox Accessories app.
There are also links to groups on the page that have setup suggestions for the controller as well.

Take a peek at the guide for
connecting Xbox One controllers to Windows 10 PC's. There's also a guide on
pairing your controller with your wireless adapter. The new controllers have Bluetooth connectivity available in addition to normal connections, not in lieu of.

Thanks Chirs. I followed the two methods shown below to pair the Elite Wireless Controller. However, it does not show up under Windows 10. What shall I do? By "push the button on the Xbox Wireless Adapter", do they mean pressing the end of the usb adpater?
My adapter is the smaller black version.

The Xbox Wireless adapter for Windows 10 is a USB device that is what the controller would communicate with to connect to the computer Bluetooth is not required.
