Does anyone know how I can fix remote play this is all I get when I try and use it

Im having this same issue when remote playing to ios device or my microsoft surface. Does anyone know why this happens? Or how exactly to combat it?

My xbox just goes to a black screen. Cant get in to the menu, cant play games, i can only watch Netflix. Is anybody having these issues? Does anyone know how to fix it? I tried all the resets and NOTHING. Help!

As someone who has worked in the Home Video industry longer than there have been DVDs, please do not use any resurfacing On Xbox one games and forward. It will take the anti-scratch coding right off the Blu-ray, desk, and directly micrometers underneath of that is the data layer. It will destroy it.

It is inadvisable to do so with DVDs like Xbox 360 games, as you can still introduce holes into the protective layers that can cause the disc to oxidize. Your best bet is to go find a used copy.

That makes sense and I understand there’s a risk of damaging the disk even further with a disk cleaner, but if it’s scratched and won’t read/play at all anyway, then it’s worth trying to see if it would help (even when considering the low chance). It should only be considered for light to moderate scratches though, and I hear what you’re saying about the risk.

I’m not sure if all stores do this, but the CeX near me used to test the disk after and only charge if they actually repaired it without affecting the data or anything. So there’s really nothing to lose this way - if the result is unsuccessful, then another copy would of course need to be purchased but at least the repair option was tried which would possibly save money.

You might be able to take the disc to a game store, depending on your country/region and how significant the scratches are. At least here in the UK, CeX (a second hand tech retailer) has a disk cleaning device to repair and remove light scratches for a cost. This can sometimes resolve the issue, so you may want to ask around before purchasing another disk (or a digital copy of the game).
