Does anyone have trouble with the controller not responding in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. SoC on Xbox?

Hi, I'm having this issue for the last 2 days, I recently learned that GSC was patching the original trilogy for current gen so I decided to download SoC to try it again.

The game was running fine but I noticed it wasn't loading the mods from mod.io so I decided to uninstall them.

When I returned to the game the only thing I saw was the title screen and a cursor like if I was playing with M&K, for some reason my controller stop working so I decided to reboot the game but nothing I was stuck in the main menu with the prompt to press any button but still wasn't working.

I tried other games and my controller works fine.

Also tried every step for the troubleshooting on the support page and nothing fixed the issue. Already reinstalled like 4 times, tried different accounts, updated to the latest patch (the game and the controller) and hard reset too but nothing have fixed my problem.

Could someone help me? Please Idk what else to do.

Hello BmKrauser, thanks for the detailed post. It sounds like you've already tried a lot of the usual steps. Sorry you're still dealing with this problem after all that.

One thing that might be worth checking is whether the mods from mod.io were fully uninstalled. Sometimes leftover mod files can cause unexpected issues, especially with controller input. Try making sure the game folder is completely clean before reinstalling.

Also, try launching the game with your controller already connected and active before opening it. Sometimes the input mode gets locked based on what it detects first.

Did you install the game through Steam or the Xbox app? That could make a difference with how the controller is handled, especially with recent updates.

Since you've already gone through most of the standard fixes, I recommend reaching out to the game’s support team as well. They may be able to help or pass the issue along if it's a bug.

I dunno if it's just me but does anyone else have trouble using the Kinect voice command 'Xbox, Record that' because for some reason my console never responds to the command 70% of the time. It's fine with every other command it's just that one that's not
working...

I found you can manually enter remote control codes in the Xbox One trouble shooting menus. Does anyone have any remote control codes for any Nuforce products?

There is actually a game coming out later this year called Chernobylite, give the trailer a watch. I am going to be getting it.

that looks a lot like S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and they even say you can ally or compete with fellow Stalkers.

I'm hopeful that this is a spiritual remastering of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and if that is the case then it's in my "must have" list of games.

although the Metro games are made by some of the team from the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games, they are set in Moscow and have very little to do with Chernobyl. the only similarities are that the NPCs have Russian accents and they are survival/horror games.
