Does anyone have the answer for 90 Day expiring Microsoft gift cards and preordering?

If you can somehow add the gift card to your Microsoft wallet/account you should be able to make that work .I've added gift cards and finish paying with my credit card for video games.But I never pre paid an item with that method though

this question i always worry about myself would be great to know

Yep, and as you can see no one seems to have the definitive answer, I contacted Microsoft rewards and all they gave me was a canned response that didn't answer the question and told me to go ask the question from another Xbox resource. I guess I will be
waiting until its within 90 days of release before I can attempt to preorder if preorder is still available at that time. I dont plan on wasting $250 to expiring gift cards.

This is a good question. I would be weary of using the gift card for a pre-order like that as it might expire before the money actually gets pulled.

I recently redeemed my Microsoft rewards points & got a xbox store gift card. I used it to preorder an expansion which is out on 22nd September. However, in the small print of the gift card. It says it has to be used within 90 days. The expansion is out
in just over 90 days. I had to split the pre order between Microsoft account & card because I was 9p under. Will that gift card still be credited towards the preorder or will it expire before the expansion is released?

I you have pre-ordered the game now with your account credit and you have already paid then no. You should get the game on release since you have already used all of the credit.
