    Hello, I just got a Xbox series X and I was wondering if loud noises are common for the console. I can not tell if it is coming from the fan or the disc tray but there is a loud noise being produced upon start up and when launching a game. The noise goes away after a few minutes and it also goes away if I tilt the console. I'm curious to know if anyone else has a console that does the same, I'm concerned because I bought it online and the seller didn't use any packing peanuts or padding when they sent me it. The package containing the Xbox was just in a larger cardboard box moving around so maybe it was damaged in shipping.

    Disc drive loud noise

    Mine is making a grinding, weird noise it also stops but then comes back. Now it hasn't gone away. No scratches on the games, everything works fine, sept the constant loud noise that sounds like a fan, or disc drive. I don't let anyone play it so it doesn't
    get worse and screw something up. Is this something I need to send in for repair? Mine is an Xbox 360.

    Xbox One X Fan sounds way louder than usual

    Ok I moved it and it has not shut off sense but the Xbox One X Fan noise is not constant and is still loud maybe not as loud as a jet engine like I describe before but still loud way louder than my Xbox One S and OG Xbox One, it would have a fan burst
    when I'm playing which is loud and annoying and the fan noise would never be at a constant noise level while I'm playing a game.

    Xbox Series X fan runs loud when playing Series X games

    So, I recently noticed that my Xbox Series X fan runs loud when playing Series X|S / Optimised for Series X|S games specifically.

    It’s quite strange as it’s dead quiet every other time, but as soon as I start a Series X|S game, the fan becomes so loud that I need to turn up the tv volume.. it’s quite distracting.

    Has anyone else experienced this? Any solutions?

    FYI - My Series X is a pre-order/launch day model.. and it sits in an open and well ventilated tv/entertainment stand*

    In comparison, I owned an Xbox One S for three years and I never heard the fan on that.
    I’m having the exact same problem now. The only time my Xbox sounds loud is when running series x enhanced games, it’s completely fine on old gen games. Have you had this issue fixed or is it still a problem now?

    Yea, I'm just not sure. It doesn't have a grinding sound but its loud enough where I can here it from my couch which is about 7 feet away. Does anyone else's have a sound like that or is yours pretty much silent?
