Thank you for posting on the Xbox Communities Forum. If these charges do not show in your account's order history, you will need to contact your bank to dispute the charges and report your card as compromised. Microsoft can only assist with charges that originate from your account.

Here is a scenario that would constitute market place theft. I am not saying this is what happened in your case but here is an example.

1. There are some charges made onto the account on say your credit card that you did not authorize.

2. You call up your bank to dispute those charges and then the bank contacts Microsoft saying that these charges are disputed and then the charges are what is called charged back basically removed from the Microsoft account and credited back to the bank.
Microsoft sees this as a way of getting around their refund policy and trying to get something for free hence marketplace theft.

What should happen in a scenario like this is to contact xbox support when the charges are noticed and let them know there are charges that you do not recognize on the account and then they would look into it and give a refund if in policy.

What you can try and do is to sign into your sons account at commerce.microsoft.com it will show you the purchase history of his account and will show if there was any refunds/chargebacks done on any purchase.

I have been charged so have set up an account on the links below and have sent an email requesting how to get a refund??? Will I be lucky? Has anybody ever received a refund from a gaming company before? Also does anyone know how I set up to request password

What kind of issue, like an account ban? And they actually charged me twice so.

If they charged you twice then you should see the 2 charges on your account and be able to refund them.

Charging back from the bank means the bank takes the money back from Microsoft, then you requesting a refund has Microsoft usually issue a refund. This would mean you get the money twice and Microsoft is out of pocket, that could be seen as fraud and classed
as marketplace theft.

Marketplace theft can lead to a permanent account suspension,only Microsoft knows if the will do that however.

Usually the first records to get a refund is from the company you made the purchase from, not to do a charge back.
