Hi I bought a month of Xbox game pass for the £1

I have not yet been able to download the games I want to play as the message below appears:

ERROR - Something Unexpected happened.

I cannot read the error message as when I hover over the icon - it immediately dissapears.

After looking online at your useless guide for this - I was given vague instructions that do not work to do some updates. This did not solve the problem.

I have had to restart the programme and my cimputer multiple time. Evry time I do - the programme doesn't recognise that my account has access to Game Pass.

I have to log out - at which point it relogs me back in with a different account 9that Microsoft were unable to help me get back into last time i wanted to play a simple bit of Minecraft.

I thenhave to relog back in to teh account that Xbox previously thought didnt have access to Game Pass - at which point I do have Game Pass again.

But still no ability to actually play any of the agmes on Game Pass.

This has sucked all of the joy out of the whole exercise.

I have several video game launchers on my PC. The only one that doesnt work AT ALL is the one made by the same company as who made the operating system.

Insanity.

The answer is no. None of this works.

I have just tried to speak to Microsoft. No phone number to ring but you can request a call. I was hung up on first time. Then put through to a dead line. Then put through to another dead line.

I've spoken to 4 different microsoft employees - none of who had any idea how to fix the problem. All of them asked for a full rundown of each problem before cutting the line dead.

Truly terrible customer service.

Thanks - Its really irritating and it always seems to happen with this launcher.

I've tried logging in and out (which takes a lot longer than these two actions given that the app doesn't recognise my account as hving access to Game Pass so i have to re-re log in every time.

I've tried following the guide that is associated with the error message. the guide reaches a certian point and then th einstructions do not match with what is seen on the sceen - the guide does not guide through the process.

I've tried a youtube guide to manually stop the windows update function - delete some files - and then recover those files.

There is no further troubleshooting advice avialble from Microsoft.

They say they have a phone line that you can make an appoitment with.

This line does not work. I cannot arrange a call. No support is avialble for this problem.

All I can do is write a post on here.

I totally understand the frustration, I had a similar issue where I couldn't install any games at all. I could tell you all the 10 steps I followed to solve it, unfortunately what helped me to solved this was to restart my PC as it comes here:

In the part of Windows 10 click on "Reset this PC" these instructions will help you to solve the problem, you can even leave your important files!

Hi there Tom welcome to the community forum! Christopher here, an Xbox fan just like you and has been on Xbox for years already. I would really love to make your day by helping you out. What troubleshooting have you tried? Just to not suggest it again. I used to have this issue before as well, also some users find a solution by uninstalling and installing the Xbox app.

Use any other browser except for chrome or safari

Edge or Firefox works best for most websites and faster

Fyi chrome is. A memory hog
