    Does an external cooling fan void the warranty?


    There's a lot of speculation that an external cooling fan voids the Xbox warranty but yet the fan is external and changes nothing about the Xbox itself. Someone please explain. Also instead of telling me not to use one, answer the question that was asked. I've seen a similar question asked and all the answers failed to actually answer the question about whether or not an External cooling fan voids the warranty.

    FYI, doing this could possibly void a warranty, as the warranty states it can be voided if you operate the system outside recommended paramaters, and using any external cooling method is specifically declared operating outside the paramaters. Even using
    the intercoolers you can buy in stores can void warranty.

    The console is designed with adequate cooling. External cooling solutions can actually compromise this system by changing static pressures as well as present risk to your console shpuld they be plugged into it, and can void your warranty since they are unlicensed peripherals.

    Is your Xbox in a cabinet? If so, i tend to use a fan for small spaces to help alleviate any cooling issues.. Do not open the case... Dust would not be a friend here and not to mention voiding your warranties.

    As mentioned, if you opened the console you voided all warranties that came with it. It could just be working hard, Occasionally my xbox would be multitasking and it's fan would come on. It's fairly loud but it's nothing to worry about. Just the console
    cooling itself.

    using external coolers will cause some Xboxes to alter the settings on their internal fans. when that gets detected by MS xbox live.... good luck getting them to believe your xbox was not hacked. also, it voids the warranty on your xbox as well
