Does a Japanese region Xbox Series X have any differences with the default button layouts...

The Xbox Series X console sold in Japan is not different from the Xbox Series X sold in other regions, including North America and Europe, in terms of button layouts for games. So I believe, the button layout for games on a Japanese region Xbox Series X is the same as the default button layout used in other regions.

Physical games on the Xbox One platform are region free and work on all Xbox One console's.

So regardless of any region differences with Series X, your Xbox One games will not be affected as the region free is hard coded into the discs (for want of a better explanation). My guess is that the Series X will be region free for physical games anyway.

Tested it out... While accelerating forward in the ghost, if you press RB (default), it'll tilt the nose upwards slightly. Probably for less of a of slow a down when you hit inclines... But I'm not sure LB does anything.

And it seems to be a different button for different layouts, insted of just the melee button, for example, in Recon, you press A to tilt it upward.

Once I moved my region unsing
support.xbox.com/.../change-region, does that mean I'll have to buy Japanese region locked games from now on? Like I had bought a Japanese Xbox?

Completely correct. The same game, same setting (I never need to touch the game setting, and all Xbox have the same language setting), but default shows Chinese text and subtitles on Xbox 360, but default shows Japanese text and subtitles on Xbox One X.
