do we get to kep the free XBLA games on xbox one or do we lose them when the month is over?

in that article it say's halo spartan **** is gonna be replaced by Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition. i thought we where going to keep these games like we do on the xbox 360. so i haven't played spartan **** to much. i figured i have the
game forever. so are the game's only free for a month and get replaced or do we get to keep them?

Because the xbox one is only 3 months old, there aren't any games they can really offer for free.

until such a time that we either get a bigger library or the ability to play 360 games, it won't really happen much (i would advise 'purchasing' the free games every month however so that if we do, theyre on your account and you have them for free.)

They're not just getting a different game to us, they're getting a new game (Volgarr the Viking) and we're getting a full game unlock for Powerstar Golf, a 12 month old game that has always been free but with limited courses and golfers.

Before I see any comments like "you're complaining about something you get for free, loser" you need to remember that these games are not free and we don't get to keep them. They are included as part of the cost of the xbox live subscription, so when we
get less value for our money than other people simply because of where we live (never mind the fact that we also pay significantly more for everything related to gaming than they do in the US), we do have the right to complain about it. Also, didn't they also
say a while ago that Xbox One users would be getting two games a month? When was the last time that actually happened?

 

It works the same way as it always did. New month new games. You dont lose the games from previous monyhs unless you stop subscribing to gold

What about if your Xbox gold runs out? I use the prepaid cards and don't have it renew automatically. If I decide to let it run out and not renew gold for a month, would I get all the games that I had previously downloaded for free?

 

Once you no longer have Gold you lose access to the GWG games. However when you re-up your Gold you will have access to them again, the ones you already downloaded that are no longer free.

 

After reading the article I am slightly not amused. So basically 1 free GwG next month since they are carrying over MTCB. Well I never.

 

^ You never what? And, why are you slightly not amused? I think the Games with Gold promotion is nice for people, I've never felt any level of amusement over it though.

And yes I am slightly not amused by the GwG offering for July. Not but-thurt but I paid for H:SA and I DLed Max already. Don't get me wrong I think GwG and DwG are awesome and MS doesn't need to provide such a thing. However I was under the impression
it would be 2 games per month not 1 new one and a carry-over from last month. Again not but-thurt just not 100% happy. On a scale of 1 to 5 where 1 is dissatisfied and 5 is completely satisfied I would give it a 3.5. Keeping in mind I am allowed to my own
opinion.

 

okay. the way the article sounded, i thought we would lose access to halo spartan assault and have access to the new game. good. thanks for the info.

 

If you run out of XBL for the Xbox One, you will lose access to GWG games. I believe the free 360 games will stay yours even when you're out of XBL gold.
