    Say you have an existing Xbox Live account that you've used for years and now possess a new-gen console like the Series X and then decide to play some old games on your original Xbox console and earn some achievements. Would the achievements you earn on the original Xbox sync with your Microsoft account and contribute to your gamerscore, game completion, etc. (That is if you can even still access your Xbox Live account on an original Xbox)?

    Sorry if this is answered somewhere else. I have not currently found any info relating to my question.

    As long as you're connected to xbox live then all your achlevements,saves etc. are all tied to your account & will move to your new console with your account.

    You can Recover your account to a new console, so there's no need to worry about your Points or gamerscore & achievements. If your hard drive is only dying, not dead, it
    might work on a transfer cable (if you have the original Xbox 360 console, not the newer 360S, whose HDDs have no transfer cable yet) long enough to get your saved games transferred to a new HDD.

    Unfortunately original Xbox saves cannot be transferred to the newer systems.
