, me and my partner love playing couch local co op games, but there's not many about, we've played borderlands, gears, halo and resident evil games but what else is there

Overcooked is a fun game that can be a couch multiplayer. You can also play Call of Duty online split screen, as well as Fortnite if those games interest you.

I Personally recommend Destiny 2 i am a HUGE fan of it, at the start it can be a little confusing but once you get the hang of it you will love it.

Overcooked and Human Fall flat are great for couch co-op.

A bit different then the game you seem to be used to but great fun.
