    I have recently acquired a nice TV and I set up my Xbox 360 with it. I have never had Xbox Live (don't really play enough to where it's worth the money), and I'm not planning on buying It. However I do have internet at my house and i connected my 360 to
    it, but I can't download any apps or anything. I keep getting a message that says update required so I say yes to wanted to apply the update... it runs the update for a little then says update failed (the status code for support is 4099-0000-0080-0300-8007-0570).
    I've looked on the support pages but can't exactly figure out what's wrong. Basically wanting to use my 360 watch Netflix without purchasing Xbox live. Any suggestions?

    Just logged out of my live and retried Netflix says I need to log into Xbox live ? Do you all have home option selected on one Xbox or something

    I have a password logging on my live account but that should not matter

    And yes Netflix asks to sign into live when I try to use it. I have tried to remove Netflix signed out of live and tried to reinstall it but again asks to sing into live

    I have been trying to watch Netflix on my Xbox 360. It says Netflix needs an update, but when I try to download it I am logged out of Xbox live and it won't download.

    A Netflix subscription and an Xbox Live Gold subscription are 2 different things. To watch Netflix on your Xbox 360 you will need to have Xbox Live Gold and a Netflix subscription.

    Constantly getting kicked out of Netflix

    I'm experiencing the same issue. I have a valid XBOX live account, and while watching a Netflix movie, it will seemingly randomly kick me out of netflix and prompt me to sign in to a valid XBOX live account. I'll give the networking troubleshooting suggestions

    Yes, yes I do. I pay so I can use Xbox LIVE not exclusively use Netflix on an Xbox 360. I pay for Xbox LIVE so I can use the Features of Xbox LIVE. Do you understand such a simple premiss? Why would anyone be given Netflix for
    "free" if they never intend on using the Service of Xbox LIVE?

    Honestly, you want to know how much I use my Xbox 360 for watching Netflix? Never. You really want to now why? Because I get it on my Samsung Smart TV as well. It's really simple, I have it available on both devices but I use my Xbox 360/ Xbox LIVE for playing
    Online Games. I use another Device (in this case my HDTV) for Streaming Netflix. I can use both or either. I pay so I can use the Features of Xbox LIVE.

    yes you can watch netflix on both devices at the same time using the same netflix account. yes I do believe you do need xbox live in order to use netflix since thats the only way to go online. he wont be able to play your games if they are digital copys
    cause they are under your xbox live account.

    You don't need a gold account to watch Netflix anymore.

    Get your girlfriend to make her own free xbox live silver account and she can watch Netflix on it.
