Do I need Xbox Live Gold on 2nd console?

I recommend to create a 2nd account (will not have the saves or game time the other account has) and set the first account (the account that has Xbox Live Gold) as the
home console to share the Xbox live gold. (You wouldn't have to buy a 2nd gold)

GameShare allows an account to share all of its console from one account to another.

1. The account that owns gold set it as the home on the 2nd console.

2. Keep the account that owns gold on the first account to play.

3. Create a second account and sign in on the 2nd console.

I'm not sure what you mean? If you plan on only getting and using 1 Xbox One console then you should be fine with paying for only 1 Xbox LIVE Gold Membership. Anyone that wants to use your console with their own gamertag will not need to pay for Xbox LIVE
Gold to get online. This is only for that 1 console. If you wish to purchase a 2nd Xbox One console then you'd need to get that console a gold membership as well so anyone can play on that console.

Anything they purchased on their accounts should be accessible as long as they are signed into Live on any console. In order for them to access the gold/games purchased on your account, they would need to use your Home console. In order for them to share
the games they bought on their account with you or your other son, they would need to set a console as their Home and the 2nd son would have to use that console.

There is no longer a family gold pass. You don't necessary need Gold on every account. Your son's can use gold as long as their using your Home console, but if they need to use gold on the non-Home console, gold would need to be purchased on at least 1 of
their accounts and that account set the 2nd console as their Home.

Depending on how many people use each console, you need at least 2 sub's and 2 of each game. 1 account with the gold sub and games would make 1 console their Home and then everyone can use the gold and games on that console. The 2nd gold account would do
the same on a 2nd console. Both of the gold accounts could still use everything on the 3rd console since e gold and games would still be tied to their accounts. If the other remaining accounts had to use the 3rd console, you'd need 3 of everything.
