Do i need to network transfer for disc games??

Hello Tmaster24E, my name is Oskayra, and I will be happy to help you.

Beforehand, it is important that you keep in mind that this is a public community forum, so we are players like you, we are not employees of Microsoft or Xbox, so we do not have access to any user account or check anything from the forum. All users help each other with common problems.

Remember that this is a possible solution, if it doesn't work for you we can try another one.

Note: This is a public forum therefore, I suggest you not share your personal information.

With the intention of being able to help you with your questions, I did an internal search in Xbox support and found that they explain that If you have several Xbox consoles or want to play at a friend's house, you can store the games saved on the Xbox servers in the cloud. Xbox and continuing where you left off, then means that it saves the progress of your games.

In addition to this, I leave you the steps recommended by Xbox support to perform the network transfer of the games you want from one console to another, in case you don't know, I hope it helps you:

    1. On the Xbox you want to copy from, press the Xbox button  on the controller to open the guide.

    2. Go to Profile & system > Settings > System > Backup & transfer > Network transfer and check the Allow network transfer box. This makes the Xbox visible to other consoles on the same network.

    3. Once you have enabled transfer from the host Xbox, turn on the console you want to copy the games and apps to and go to the same settings page. The host Xbox should appear.

    4. Select the Xbox you want to copy from, choose the items to copy, and select Copy Selected.

Thank you for your patience, I hope everything can be resolved. I will be attentive to your response. Blessings.

    Sincerely,
    Oskayra.

    Xbox game transfer.

    Hi ScopedZA

Unfortunately, if you had the game on the disc, you would still need the disc in. When you network transfer, you don't need to reinstall the game on the new console thus, the game license would still depend on the disc.

And as advertised, the Xbox series S is an all-digital console.

    Xbox one Network Game Transfer

    Hi,

Network transfer can transfer all of your games to a different console, both disc based installs and downloaded games.

    Rayman Legends won't download!

Sorry to hear it. Do you still have the disc? If so, install the game from the disc. For future reference you do not need to delete a disc install of the game. The license will just transfer to that copy.

Can disc games from Xbox One be network transferred over to Xbox X? Do I have to put the disc game into the Xbox X then do a network transfer of the data?

Hi there Tyler, my name is Gerardo, and I'm an Xbox player, just like you. I'll be happy to assist you with any questions or concerns you may have.

Yes, any game that is installed on your Xbox One console, even if it was installed using a disc, can be transferred to another Xbox console through a network transfer, following the instructions in the following link:

    https://support.xbox.com/help/hardware-network/console/enable-network-game-transfer-xbox-one

If you don't own the game digitally, you will need to insert the disc into the other console to be able to play it, as the disc serves as the license in those cases.

I hope this helps and if you have further questions please let me know.

    Kind regards,
    Gerardo.
