Do I need a CD to install and use my XBox 360 Wireless receiver?

I am looking foward on buying a XBox 360 Wireless Receiver, so I can use my controller on my laptop. BUT all the stores that sells it are mentioning a CD that comes among it. And I'm worried I'll actually need the CD to install the softwares on my laptop,
because it does not have a "CD case". So I can never introduce a CD on my laptop. I wish you guys could just asure me that no CD is needed during the installation.

You can not do that by putting the CD in the drive, just checking the game and then pulling it down. It is not installed from the CD. And if you want to download it that way, it's clear. And if I can recommend using xbox with wired network connection.
Do not use wireless, not very reliable on Xbox.

Thanks for reaching out! I'm sorry to hear about the concern for the Xbox 360 wireless receiver installation CD. Unfortunately, you will need to install the software from the Disc on the Laptop/PC.

Note: Before you can use wireless accessories with your computer, you might need to install some software on your computer.

To install the software from disc

1. Insert the installation disc into the CD or DVD drive of your computer.
2. If the Setup program doesn't automatically start, change to your CD or DVD drive, and then run the Setup program.
   
3. Follow the steps in the wizard to install the software. Restart the computer if you're prompted.

Hey Eduardo! Thank you for posting today. I'd be happy to help.

I believe a CD to install the software is only something needed for any version of Windows other than Windows 10.

With Windows 10 it should install the drivers for the device automatically.

Paul from Xbox Forums Team here to assist with the issue, as previously mentioned if you have a windows 10 device and you connect the wireless adapter it'll automatically install and update drivers if necessary. As well you can check out this link for getting
