Do I have to see the ad on my 360 for the $75 promotion to be extended to me?

Hi,

I have checked my 360 periodically since this promotion first appeared, but I haven't seen the ad yet. If I were to buy an Xbox one for a retailer and register it as instructed on these forums, would I be eligible for this $75 credit promotion?

Also, is there any limitation on which retailers to purchase from? I believe Sam's club is selling a $499 Xbox One for $429 currently.

75 dollar promotion

Hey guys I'm from Canada and I got the ad on my 360 yesterday saying if I upgraded to Xbox One I'd get the 75 dollar promotion they were doing. Well today I went out and got one, so I was just wondering how long do I have to wait to get that code? Are there
any steps I have to follow to obtain it? Thanks in advance.

$75 Upgrade Promotion

Sorry to be posting yet another one of these, but I was directed by the support team to do so. I saw the promotion on my 360 Dashboard and bought an Xbox One on July 20th, which was my birthday. It's the last day of the promotion and I have had no contact
confirming that I am going to receive the $75 to my account, and wanted to make sure this was documented somewhere. I have it registered (just managed to do that now) and set the console to my home console about a week ago when I first booted it up. Is everything
okay? When should I be receiving the $75?

I think I found my answer. I contacted Xbox Live Support and this person from the Philippines answered it. (Her grammar is a little off, FYI). I changed the names but here's the transcript:

Support: Let me clarify that one. if Xbox 360 loyal users will still got the promotional promo even if you got an XBox One now.

Me: I haven't purchased the Xbox one yet...I'm trying to understand the rules of this promotion first and whether I'm eligible.

Support: Oh I see

Support: Yes. Technically that is a promo or something like a raffle. If you are selected. That will automatically prompt out in your console. Just please don't ignore and cancel it.

Me: I see. Have all the "raffle" recipients been selected? or should I wait and see this month?

Support: I think it's not for everyone.

Support: I have checked your account here and you have been an XBox live user at the very long time.

Support: If I will raffle or pick those guys. I will surely include you.

Support: Just wait and see it for this month. Alright? I am confident that you will get it

Me: ok, when is the "raffling" over?

Support: At the end of this month.

Support: We got a lot of valued customer like you. It will really takes time to prepare those stuff for you guys.

I'm not sure that the person on phone support understood what you were talking about. Phone support is an outsourced company and has nothing to do with who is picked for which Xbox promotion. That is strictly an internal function of the company.

It was actually online support, and she was saying "If I will raffle or pick those guys..." meaning she doesn't.

I posted this to simply say two points: it's a raffle of a pool of customers based on some criteria & it will be happening throughout the month.

For those that dont know, each promoted character adds 75 points to your war assets. If you go to the war room its one of the first options and then scroll down and it will show 75 points for each character you promote. I promoted 2 characters so far and
have 5 other characters that can be promoted. It will help me get a jump on my 2nd playthrough for sure.

For the war assets mostly.

Though for awhile I was keeping everyone at lvl 20 waiting for a weekend promotion promotion

Anyone that's not clear on the single player benefit to promoting - everytime you promote a class you get around 75 or so pts added to your War Assets under Alliance: N7 Spec Ops heading in the war room.

Do that enough and you'll eventually have a big enough boost to get the "best" ending even if your galactic readiness is down to 50%.
