    Do I get a red core Elite controller back if I send mine in for repair?


    Good afternoon, all! For some reason Xbox chat support isn't working for me. I'm on my 4th Elite Series 2 controller now, my current one being a red core I purchased in October of 2024. I have the extended warranty from Microsoft until December of 2027. It is developing minor drift now on both sticks that the recalibration app can't fix. If I were to send it in under warranty, is it a refurbished unit that I get back, and would it still be a red core? Also, do I only get one replacement throughout the warranty? Thank you!

    I would stay with the regular controllers as we get nearly daily posts here on the forums about problems people experience with the Elite and they are always having to send them back for repair or replacement.

    Are the more recent Xbox One controllers of better quality?

    I really hope they are a lot better then the first gen, I went though six elites before I just gave up on exchanging for another one. I'll send mine back to Xbox for repairs.

    Repair it yourself by watching youtube videos. I once send in an elite controller and i will never do it again. It took microsoft 12 weeks to send it back. The bumpers of my elite controllers (yes plural, because they break so freakin' fast) break every
    3-4 weeks. Poorly engineered that thing...

    In addition to that, one of my controllers had that said drift of yours from the beginning and the other one got it after 1 year.

    I was hoping that microsoft announces an improved elite controller on e3 2018. But why would they?

    If you have your receipt try checking with the retailer you purchased from and see if you are able to get a replacement or refund.

    If not despite previous comments, send in your controllers for repair or replacements. It's best if your console is still covered by warranty as you won't need to pay much at all or any for that matter.

    SEND IN THE BARE CONTROLLER, keep the removable sticks and DPAD, as you will be sent back barebone controller.

    I have tried multiple times now and I cannot find the label anywhere.

    Microsoft don't want to know even if you spend 170 on a controller!
