Do easy shorting hookups exist?

I had a joystick plan built on having switchable 3.5 mm cables almost exactly like the Xbox adapter however I think maybe the nature my electrical signals is causing a problem.

I put my main signal on the Left Channel and I leave the right channel empty and the ground contains the ground for the individual control.

I thought I read somewhere on the official Microsoft website but I can't seem to find it instantly is that the way you make TRS controllers work with TS is to short the right audio Channel.

I always heard the term short circuit was bad. And I don't want to permanently ruin the nature by current equipment.

I assume shorting in this sense of the word means to disconnect the right Channel and convert it to a TS cable with all the signal going through the audio signal or in this case the controller signal portion.

Do they sell TRS to TS cable devices with short the right channel and get all their information from the left circuit?

If they do that's probably the easiest way to convert my card controller to work with the Adaptive controller.

The main reason why I suggest this is because I noticed that the official literature says it works with any 3.5 mm controller.

If that's the case then all I need are 18 shorting adapters and I should be good.
