    Disturbing messages from Xbox app

My PC isnt powerful enough to record games, or its some other reason for that.

When using chrome i often get the message to use some button to start recorder

and other things connected to X-box, and I want to get rid of that.

I cant uninstall Xbox app and by some windows-usual-reason i cant even get any result

    by clicking "stop" the app.

Is the reason that i happened to once login to the xbox app, start an account?

If so, why cant i delete the account?

    :)

Can you make a screenshot of the message?

If it's a message about the Game Bar being able to record gameplay, it's because Chrome used hardware to render something that Windows identified as a game.

You can disable that recording by going to the settings (click on the notification center speech-bubble in the lower right corner, then click on the cogwheel tile for all settings).

In the settings click on the Xbox symbol.

You should see settings for the Game Bar on the left.

Sorry if my translation might be off a bit, but I'm using a German Windows 10, but the top entry should be about the Game Bar, and when you click on that, you should see a switch to turn the Game Bar functionality
on or off, with a checkbox that allows you to open the Game Bar by pressing the Xbox button on a controller.

Turn these two settings off, and you should not get messages about the game bar, and the Xbox app should not eat up resources.

If you go to the task manager, and you're not using the Xbox App, you should see a green leaf next to the app. That means, the app is put to sleep. The PC knows it's there, but it's not using CPU resources
and is not kept in RAM. So it should not affect your PC performance.

You can also start the Xbox App, and go to the settings by clicking on the cogwheel on the lower left of the app. In the "general" tab, disable the Live Tile function. And under notifications uncheck everything.

Now you shouldn't get any messages anymore.

The problem is, Windows 10 has identified chrome as a game window. Perhaps you once used it to record your screen or hit the windows key+G accidentally while in chrome.

To disable the game bar completely, you can go to Settings > Gaming > Game Bar and click the toggle that says "Record game clips, screenshots, and broadcast using game bar" to disable it.

To disable it from popping up in chrome whilst leaving it activated for other games/apps, you can hit the windows key+G and in the overlay the appears, click the cogwheel and then uncheck the box that says "Remember this as a game"

Furthermore, if you want to stop the xbox app from running at all, you can sign out of the app and it will not load up in the background.

    Hope this helps!

Yes, thx, I got rid of the messages

But i cant understand what hardware was connected with Chrome.

I never connected more than a printer to this pc.

But i wanted to record pc-games and somewhere read that it was possible with the xbox app, so i checked around that app and created an account and logged in.

But i got the message that my hardware wasnt ok for recording.

So i logged out and i think i deleted the account.

After that I got those messages or questions about recording, when i sterted chrome and then always when i opened new pages

For many people that is probably not disturbing, but it was for me and slowed the browsing down a little.

    Thx

(my english isnt at toplevel to..)

Yes, these two answers made it very clear how to remove messages but as i wrote above i dont know why chrome got involved.

I think, during your trial to record, you may have hit the win+G button while a chrome window was active. This tells game bar to identify that app as a recordable game.

The reason why the messages persisted after you logged out is because the xbox app is searate from game bar--the feature that records the screen.

Yes, im almost sure Chrome was opened when I thought if win+G would work and by some reason I wondered if the not Microsoft keyboard was ok for this.

Nothing at all happened, and later during a game i got the info that the PC hardware wasnt enough for recording.
