    Hi everyone,

    Well, this is fun. So I have an Xbox One X that I bought around Father's Day last year, so this isn't even a year old. I come home from work today to start it up after a few weeks, and the Xbox turns on but the HDMI is acting like it doesn't exist. I
    went online, looked up all the suggestions, and nothing works. I'm assuming the HDMI port might be dead. I plug the HDMI cord into my Playstation 4 and it works just fine, so I know it's not the cord or the TV. I look up the warranty on the X-Box, it says
    it's out of warranty, which is ridiculous because I've barely played this thing and it's not even a year old. I try to contact support, they say there are not options to contact them for this sort of problem, and they suggest this forum. So, yeah. Not quite
    sure what to do. Not too happy about it. Looks like I'm going back to the PS4 for now, and definitely getting a PS5 when it comes out just because of issues like this. The reason I BOUGHT this X-Box last year was to give my dad my old Xbox because his had
    broken. It really breaks a lot more than Playstation, in general (anyone remember red rings of death?) and also it looks like they're not giving any support? Any suggestions? I already updated my Smart TV, so that's not the solution either. Anyone have
    any help to suggest before I decide to trash this thing?

    Sorry to hear it. Please hold the power button on the console for 10 seconds till it shuts down. Then hold the Eject and Sync buttons at the same time. While still holding them press the power button on the console.

    Keep holding the Eject+Sync buttons until you hear a second start up tone.

    If this has worked then you should see a Troubleshoot Screen asking if you want to reset the console. Select Yes then choose the option to keep installed games and apps. Your saves will be safe on the Cloud and will only need a brief moment to resync.

    You can now go through the setup process and continue playing.

    If this does not work then it's an issue with the video card that would need to be repaired. You can set this up at
    https://devicesupport.microsoft.com. Once set up and you have received your shipping label you can pack up the console.

    Please be sure to only send the console and nothing else as Xbox does not guarantee that extra items such as cables or controllers will be returned

    My sons xbox had exactly the same problem last night i thought the HDD was daed. We left it overnight to contact support today but it switched on and worked first thing this morning??? Really strange. he has switched back on now to find an update waiting?

    Go to the Xbox Support page and choose options you need help with until you get the option of chat or call back. Talk to them about your warranty and if you have a receipt that will be helpful to show it's still under warranty.

    If the options for speaking to support arent available for your issue, select a different subject that is; billing is usually a good on for getting to speak to an agent

    Check the seating of the HDMI cable in the TV and console sockets.

    When the console is reconnected to the TV, turn them on in this order.. TV then AVR if using and then the console last of all.

    Troubleshoot screen support may assist you.
