    Disney Infinity 3.0 Update not available?


    Hi there. I'm trying to play the disc version of Disney Infinity 3.0 on my XBox One, but every time I try to do so it tells me an update is needed "but we can't get it at the moment. Try again in a while. (0x8b050033)" It's been doing this for several weeks now... in fact, I couldn't even install and play the game at all until I set the console offline, at which point the game installed from disc and ran fine, though without the update I'm after.

    The issue is NOT on my end - as I said, I can play the game when offline just fine, I'm able to download other games when the console is online just fine and there's plenty of hard drive space - so the problem is absolutely with the update. Is there any chance the problem can be resolved?

    If that update isn't able to be fixed, a follow-up question: the Disney Infinity 3.0 software is also available to purchase digitally. If I buy that, will it include the update (and if not, will a refund request be accepted)?

    Hi, I hope you're doing great out there despite the issue that you're experiencing. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regards to your concern.

    Yes, the game can be purchased digitally but no worries, because to fix this you can definitely download the digital version then simply launch the game once fully installed.

    Make sure to uninstall the game then perform a powercycle on your console.

    POWERCYCLE CONSOLE​​​

    1. Turn off your console by holding the Xbox button on the front of the console for approximately 10 seconds. The console will turn off. ​​​

    2. Turn your console back on by pressing the Xbox button on the console or the Xbox button on your controller. ​​​

    Once done, follow the steps below:

    1. Open the Xbox app on your mobile device.

    2. Search for the game that cannot be installed

    3. Press Download to console and select the destination console

    4. Once the game has installed on that console, the disc can be inserted to play

    DI 3.0 will play any of the previous playsets.
