Disk read error while playing a downloaded game

My best guess on this issuse is the disk has become faulty. I started to get disk is unreadable errors a few days ago while playing horde online. It seems rediculous that I have installed the game, yet at some point the disk is being read and required for
you to still play. There has been no problem while playing offline. There are no scratches on my disk but there is a slight miscolouration near the edge of the disk. It is hard to see but could be deterioration of the disk. I am too lazy to fight for a repacment
disk so I traded mine in, got Microsof pts and downloaded the game to my hard drive. Yea it sucks that I've paid another $40 to own GoW3 but it is my most played game and I don't wish to wait or waste my time and energy trying to get it again for free. Good

@Mister Fitzer Sonic Generations works fine on another console, mine is the only one that seems to be having that problem. Every other game seems to work just fine on it though.

Some Sonic Generation effects:

Music skips

Music stops

Graphics dont load at the time its suppose to (Invisible scenary, insivible objects)

Disk read error (Error I get everytime any of the above happens).

I also noticed the disk stops spinning before I get disk read error and sometimes the disk spins non stop then error message pops up cause it doesnt seem to be reading it.

I am able to play it sometimes but i usually get disk read error after a while.

Um Its not my disks that won't read. Its my downloaded games that won't play, and any game that is installed. My downloaded games and installed games register as unreadable disk. Aren't they supposed to read off of the hard drive.

Hey there it sounds like the hard drive might either need a bit of maintenance or replacing. The first step is to check that it is the HDD and not a problem with the console itself.

First format a usb device for your Xbox.

Then disconnect your hard drive.
support.xbox.com/.../add-remove-hard-drive

Now download your gamertag and game to the USB device and see if the game runs without error.

If the game plays fine from your USB device I would suggest first that you clear your cache, then if you're still having problems you should backup any game saves and other data you want to keep and then format the hard drive, this will wipe everything on
there so backup first!

If you're still having problems after that try some of the other steps listed in the link below or contact Microsoft about a repair or replacement hard drive.
