Disk games sometimes not needing disk to play

i have battlefield 3 and when i put in the disk it would say unreadable disk and sometimes it would say play disk, and when i played the disk it would say "disk is unreadable" can somebody HELP

Unfortunately downloading the game using a disk does not mean you can play without the disk. Installing the game only let's the game run faster since the xbox does not have to read the entire disk. You will still need the disk to play or purchase the digital
copy. I hope this helps you understand why you need the disk.

yes game will still be on disk and yes you will still need disk to play just saves wear and tear on disk as once xbox verifies you have disk it accesses your hard drive for game

to all the people saying to clean the disk. im tired of hearing that. there is no way that is the problem. I am having the same unrecognized disk problem right now. Everything worked fine until i tried to watch Fast Five on it. Said unrecognized disk.
But sometimes it will play. I thought it was the disk. Then I bought fifa 12 and the same thing happens. Sometimes it wont play, sometimes it will. And there is no way my DVD drive is dying because every other game and movie works just fine. I think
its some new type of encryption they are putting on new disks or something. Thats the only thing that makes sense to me. Anybody figure anything out about it yet?

Sorry for the issue with the game. You will need a copy of the disk due to the license is on the disk. You can try and get a used copy of the disk game. Sometimes you can find them pretty cheap. Also there are a lot of deals going on now for games digitally,
you might find the game as a deal digitally also.
