How to get discord chat through headset and game audio to come out of tv speakers?

Hi there! This is Virginia O.

I understand that you want to chat through the headset and game audio should be on the speakers.

I apologize for the inconvenienced this has caused you. I will do my best to help you.

Please access audio settings by pressing the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide. Navigate to Profile & System > Settings > General > Volume & Audio Output.

Under the Volume section, look for Party Chat Output.

Select Headset for party chat audio to come through your headset only.

And for the game audio output. Make sure that your Audio Setup is configured to output game audio through your TV speakers. You might need to select the appropriate audio format under Speaker Audio (e.g., Stereo Uncompressed).

Next is to go to Discord audio settings. In the Discord app on your Xbox, check if there are any specific audio settings that allow you to route voice chat separately.

Once everything is done, start a game and join a Discord voice chat to confirm that party chat is coming through your headset and game audio is playing through your TV speakers.

    Thank you for your cooperation.

is there a way to record discord audio via xbox series x?

Hi! I'm Luis, a fellow Xbox Gamer . Thanks for reaching us out here.

There is no setting to record Discord voice chat. As Discord voice channel audio can’t be broadcasted through Xbox live streaming either

Cannot hear anything in discord chat, or a xbox party chat

Hi there! This is Virginia O.

I understand that you are experiencing issues not hearing anything from Discord chat.

I apologize for the inconvenienced this has caused you. I will do my best to help you.

Please check voice chat output settings by opening Settings > Volume & Audio Output on your Xbox console. Verify that Party Chat Output is set to your Headset. Test switching between Headset and Speakers, then reset to Headset.

And then update Astro A50x firmware because an outdated firmware might cause audio issues. Connect your Astro A50x headset to your PC.

Download and install the Astro Command Center software from the Astro Support Page. Update the headset firmware and try again on your Xbox.

Next is to test audio settings in discord. To do this, open Discord on your Xbox or linked PC/Mobile. Navigate to Voice & Video Settings.

Check Output Device and select your Astro A50x. Adjust the Output Volume Slider and ensure it isn’t muted.

Disable additional audio devices because multiple connected devices might cause conflicts. Disconnect or disable other audio output devices such as speakers, additional headsets. Please confirm your Astro headset is the default device in both Xbox and Discord.

Then reset Xbox voice settings by navigating to Settings > Account > Privacy & Online Safety. Select Xbox Privacy > View Details & Customize > Communication & Multiplayer. Make sure that you can communicate with voice and text is set to Everyone or Friends.

After that is to test your network connection. To do this, go to Settings > Network Settings > Test Network Connection. Kindly ensure that your NAT Type is Open. Restart your router if NAT Type is Moderate or Strict.

If the issue persist after performing the troubleshooting steps, please test the headset in other apps to confirm the headset is working properly.

Kindly use the Astro A50x on another device or application.

If voice chat works there, the issue is specific to your Xbox.

    Thank you for your cooperation.

    GAME CHAT MIC DOESNT WORK

    Hi MicoZan,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Xbox Community. I'm sorry to hear that you're having issues using the party chat feature of Xbox. Please make sure that your Xbox settings are configured properly. These communication settings can be adjusted to limit who you want to chat with.

    1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide, and then go to Profile & system.

    2. Select Settings > Account > Privacy & online safety > Xbox privacy > View details & customise.

    3. Select Communication & multiplayer, and then review the settings for the following to make sure that they are set to Friends or Everyone:

Others can communicate with voice, text, or invites

You can communicate outside of Xbox with voice & text

You can use video for communications

If you want to learn more about configuring your settings, go to:

    https://support.xbox.com/help/family-online-saf...

Note: If you're connected to a Discord voice channel on your Xbox console, your party chat status will say “Discord” and the name of the voice channel that you're in. If you want to join or start an Xbox party chat, disconnect from the Discord voice channel so that you can switch over to game or party chat. To learn more about using Discord voice chat while on the Xbox network, go to:

    https://support.xbox.com/help/friends-social-ac...

If you found these settings allowed, continue to these steps to reset your audio settings:

Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide.

Select Profile & system > Settings > General > Volume & audio output > Audio Testing & Details > Reset audio settings

    Regards,

    Alvaro

    Xbox game sounds

    Thank you for the clarification.

Do you have the sound configured in the Xbox to go to speakers or to Headset?

You can check by going to System > Settings > General > Volume & audio output. From there you'll be able to check output and chat mixer. See if any of those settings might be preventing audio from coming through the headset.

Also, try opening your Xbox menu by pressing the home button on your controller, then clicking "audio". There should be a volume bar for game vs voice chat below the regular audio bar. Moving this bar to the right makes the game louder and voice chat quieter, moving it to the left makes voice chat louder and the game quieter.
