Discord on xbox wrong microphone status

I understand how frustrating it must be that you are experiencing this issue with Discord overlay. Before we continue, can you let me know if you've tried any troubleshooting steps so far? If you have, please tell me the specific steps.

Yes, I've tried all of the support suggestion such as xbox reset, changing overlay settings, changing microphone settings and relinking discord account. Unfortunately none of these helped.

In this case, I advise using the 'Report a problem' app so the team at Xbox can look into this issue: https://support.xbox.com/help/account-profile/manage-account/xbox-insider-hub-report-a-problem

If you don't have the app on your Xbox, download it for free:

Press the Xbox button to open the guide, and then select Store.
Select Search, and then enter Xbox Report a Problem in the search box.
Choose the app from the search results, and then select Download.

Then, press and hold the Xbox button, and select Report a problem to launch the Report a Problem app.

Select Report new problem > Continue with standard diagnostics. Follow the steps on-screen to complete your report.

The report will be submitted to Team Xbox, and the issue will be looked into and hopefully fixed in a future update.

I don't know if it is related but I had a similar issue where my microphone was working in Discord for a few seconds then would stop. I ended up going to the Settings --> Privacy --> Microphone and view the apps that are allowed to use the microphone.
Xbox Game Bar is unchecked by default I think.

Also, if you have another program open that can use the microphone it will possibly override other programs. For example, The Division 2 game will make Discord no longer work if I turn the in game audio on to my main microphone.

In this case to talk to the microphone only if your Microphone has the correct pinout for the control, one solution is also to use the Discord App on the mobile phone to chat with the groups.
