Discord Link Issues

So I've had this happen multiple times but this time my Xbox refuses to link my discord account. Every time I try, it says "reset link" with a triangle with an exclamation point next to it. I've made new accounts both on Xbox and Discord. Neither will let me link my Discord through the Xbox console itself or through the Discord app. I've gotten frustrated because my boyfriend has tried his account linked to his discord and it pops up with the multiple groups he is in, mine refuses even to show any of mine. It will just pop up saying "I need to link the account" even though it has been linked and I have tried to relink it 20 times now. I have reset my Xbox by holding down the power button, unplugging it, resetting my network- EVERYTHING I can think of. I'm at a complete loss and my friend can't use his chat without issues, so now we can't even speak over our headsets. PLEASE HELP!

Please try the steps one at a time to resolve the issue.

Solution 1: Try setting up Manual DNS settings on your console.

1. Please go to Settings > Network > Advanced Settings > DNS settings >> manual

2. Primary DNS: 208.67.222.222

3. Secondary DNS: 208.67.220.220

Solution 2: Please try setting up a mobile hotspot connection using your phone, then connect the console to the hotspot connection. Kindly check if the same issue persists after setting it to appear online.

If the issue still persists, there have been multiple reports about it already. I would highly recommend reporting the issue using the Report a Problem app so that it can be investigated and fixed as soon as possible.

Hi ----, actually there was an exact same issue about this on Discord around December 1st, but it was supposed to be already fixed by Xbox and Discord team.

But today, we are getting handful of other users experiencing same issue again. Even already linked Discord on xbox still asking to be linked back.

The issue might be resurfacing, this was the notice discord posted on the last issue.

Can not link/relink Discord to Xbox

I have tried everything to make Discord work on Xbox but it is always the same issue. It is telling me to relink when I have already linked.

Many people are experiencing the same issue as me so this could not be a problem on the user side it is an issue between Discord and Xbox and it needs to be resolved.

I have the same issue. I have contacted Discord support but they don't have an answer for me yet.

So I have found that at the moment you need the beta discord app.
