Discord and party issues

For the past week I have been playing rivals with my friends and while I am in discord I get pulled into game chat randomly. Then when I go back to the party chat I can’t hear my friends and they can’t hear me. But through the chat overlay I see that they are still speaking. The game audio never turns off just my chat. The only way I have been able to fix it is by restarting my console but I can’t do this in the middle of my games how do I make this stop.

I understand that you are experiencing party chat issues while in Discord.

I apologize for the inconvenienced this has caused you. I will do my best to help you.

Please check audio settings in discord. Open Discord, go to Settings > Voice & Video, and ensure that your microphone and headset are correctly selected as the input and output devices. Also, enable "Noise Suppression" and set it to "Krisp" to help reduce background noise.

And then disable stereo mix. To do this kindly go to Sound Settings > More Sound Settings > Recordings, and disable "Stereo Mix" if it's enabled.

It is also important to reconfigure audio devices. In Discord, go to Settings > Voice & Video, and manually set the input and output devices. And ensure that the correct devices are selected and try restarting Discord.

Kindly try to use wired connection. If you're using a Bluetooth headset, try switching to a wired connection to see if it resolves the issue.

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Xbox Community. I'm sorry to hear that you're having issues connecting to discord through your Xbox. For us to further isolate your issue, kindly share the exact error message that you received.

If you're connected to a Discord voice channel on your Xbox console, your party chat status will say “Discord” and the name of the voice channel that you're in. If you want to join or start an Xbox party chat, disconnect from the Discord voice channel so that you can switch over to game or party chat.

I have reached out to discord already on the advice of Microsoft support. Discord indicated it was an issue with the family safety settings for the child account and that I needed to enable 3rd party apps.

Typically it's a drive of software update issue, also if your using a 3rd party chat app such as discord would also determine the capability
