disconnecting from xbox live

so pretty much no mater what game i play on or offline, more when playing call of duty ghost or fifa 14, i experience no lag what so ever and then the game just freezes then kicks me out the game and says their has been a error etc as i have lost my
connection to xbl. yet the laptop right beside is still running and dont lose connection to internet, my internet does not go down as i check my logs, and my speed is always above 15download and 3up. it keeps happening and im thinking it has to be a problem
within the xbox? as its 100% not my internet provider, anyone else experienced this or know of any faults etc it could be? i am with virgin media

X1 Desperate Help !!

I've tried hard resetting and updating and the controller is charged. I don't understand why that every time my Xbox disconnects from live that my controller disconnects as well. For starters I don't even know why my live is disconnecting...

I get it as well but usually with the internet explorer app.

I haven't had any problems with COD yet.

Are you using a wired or wireless connection?

If you are using wireless then you should try changing the wifi channel in your routers settings

 

yeah im wireless i tried to change from channel 11 to 6 and the problem still happened and then put it on auto channel and im still being disconnected

 

Hi Daaave.... Are you running a separate router or combined router/modem?

Can you:

1. Upgrade to your routers latest firmware.

2. Do a detailed network test under Settings> Network, specifically upload, download and packet loss.

3. Forward ports in your router for Xbox Live OR see if your router has UpNP and enable it.

4. Try the DMZ zone of your router (if it has it) to see if that helps.

Last but not least, some routers don't play nice with XBL.....what make and model are you using?

 

my firmware is upto date and i am using the virgin media super hub 2.

 

Hi Daaave....... Have you tried UpNP or DMZ?

 

Dave, Access your router and then go to

Home -> Advanced settings -> Security -> DMZ inside the router, click the box to enable DMZ and then manually check the ip address on the console. Go to Settings -> Network -> You should see the ip address near the left corner of the screen which says ip
address.

When you have the ip Go to dmz on the router, enable the tick and then tipe in the last number of your ip address in the box in the DMz , so it should be something like 192.168.0.X -> X is the number that you need to find out from the console. If this works,
set up static ip on the xbox go to network settings -> advanced settings -> select manual and it will tell you to enter the subnetmask, DNS and Ip address.

Subnet mas is always the same so check the automatic one. Gateway is also the same, so check the manual one. The ip address change it a bit for example if you 192.168.0.1 add +5 to this 1 and put 192.168.0.6 and then also change it in dmz settings to that
6. This way the ip will stay constantly the same and if dmz fixes this you will have no disconnects at all.
