    i have a xbox one x and when i insert a disc it doesn't go all the way in. previously it was reading discs normally but the disc won't eject and make grinding noise

    Hey there StiksyMcLogan.

    Sorry to hear about the disc drive troubles!

    Are you certain there isn't another disc already in your Xbox One? If you haven't had a chance, check out this
    Disc Drive Troubleshooter and run through all the provided steps. Keep us updated with how it goes. Unfortunately, if the steps there aren't helping a repair/replacement is going
    to be the best next option.

    Hi,

    Your disc won't be still inside your console. The Xbox One Blu-ray drive (just like all optical drives) is an enclosed unit and can only take one disc at a time there is literally nowhere for a disc to go, other than be picked up by the drive and spun. If
    there is already a disc there or otherwise stuck in the drive, the other disc wouldn't go in.

    One thing you could do is unpin all disc based games and only pin your digital games.

    Then if/when you do want to play a disc game, just put the disc in and away you go.

    That way you won't accidentally pick a disc game without it in the drive.

    It's good that some gamers like Blu-Ray and physical discs in general, but others don't. I won't ever put a disc inside a next gen console, so having it there looking at me like a deranged serial killer is going to drive me off the edge lol

    With past experience with my copy of CoD MW2 cracking on the inside, DO NOT put it in the console again. You'll have to get a new copy if you want to play it again.

    As for the "Disc is unreadable" error, it is doing that because the seal to the disc was broken, so it won't play anymore because of that seal. Again, the only way to fix this issue is to get another copy.
