    Disc Reading Problems - Xbox One


    Ok, so this is the second Day One edition Console i have had and for the Second time now the Disc WILL NOT READ. I actually counted 72 times tonight putting the disc in and taking it out and even then it didn't read. makes a strange whirring noise then tells
    me its not and Xbox One Disc.

    Every now and then the disc will read after a few times of putting the disc in and out again, but tonight was the straw that broke the camels back.

    This isn't the Disc that the issue here. I have 4 Game Discs from 4 different retailers. None of them work.

    I spoke to Microsoft Xbox Support and after telling them this is the second console to do this they said its an isolated problem. What? Isolated to my home or???

    What a joke. Why can't MS address this issue...I know why, because they don't know how to fix it, that's why!!!

    Could anyone please help me here, i am wondering if its happening a lot and MS are clearly full of it...

    My game was in my xbox 360 as someone in my family banged on the side and now my game will not play...Ideas on how to fix????? (Game was Halo: Reach and i wasn't even half way through so it's bugging me and i would prefer to not spend another
    $50.00 on it.)

    Disc Reading Problems

    Is there a circle going around the disk, on the bottom? This happens when you move your console while the disk is spinning, and will make those portions (or even the whole game) unplayable. I do believe Gamestop does it, and I am pretty sure it's fairly
    cheap.

    Hi,

    it won't be a software problem. The reason is because the Xbox One's Blu-Ray drive actually has two laser diodes, one for reading Blu-Ray Xbox One discs and movies and another to read Xbox 360 and DVD movie discs.

    Essentially the laser that reads BD discs has failed and it's not something you can repair yourself.

    Sorry about that.

    I'm having this problem too, but only with Xbox 360 discs, Xbox One discs are read instantly, but I have to keep ejecting the 360 discs and reinserting them about 20 times before they read, it's getting very annoying now

    Disc not being read

    The problem is that you are trying to play several games that are 360 disc based on your xbox one and that are not part of the backward compatibility list. For example RE 4 has a new version for xbox one and you can't use the xbox 360 disc to play it (it
    will not read the disc at all)

    As for the rest of your disc based games (that are part of the bc list) check if they are scratched or damaged in the surface. There is no reason for a new console's disc driver to have problems in reading discs other than those caused by the damaged or
    unknown disc games
