    Disc read/install error?


    Got the game on Tuesday, worked fine for two days. Tonight I went to try and go back into the campaign and as soon as it finishes a cut scene, it has a disc read error and then the game backs out to the main menu and it reloads from that same cut scene.
    I am attempting to reinstall, but it is taking much much longer than the first time and I fear something is up with the disc.

    Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this issue?

    Wont update because of defective disc drive

    Wont update because of defective disc drive...why does this update errors, because of a bad disc reader? Please allow me to install my update on a defective disc reader...

    You would need a HDD to install the game to. You'd also be installing corrupt files because it would need to read files from the disc to install. If it can't read the disc then it obviously cannot install the files.

    No disc read errors. Just backcompat error. Disc 1 reads and installs fine. There are not deviations on any of the discs. Just two and three won't work.

    Just something I wanted to add: Even when a game is installed, it reads the disc to ensure you have the game in the drive. Failure to read the disc will pop up the Unreadable Disc error. It's the disc you have, not the installed game having a problem.

    Have you tried installing the game? I get disc read errors when trying to play from the disc but it installs and plays fine for some reason.

    Hi,

    This error is a disc read error. A cyclic redundancy check (CRC) is an error reading the data from a disc. There could be a number of reasons for this:

    • The data on the disc is corrupt (highly unlikely)
    • The area of the disc being read is dirty or damaged
    • Your PC DVD drive laser isn't working as it should or the diode is dirty

    The main part of of MSF2020 can be installed on practically any drive, it does not need to be C:\. Mine is installed on my internal SSD F:\ drive.

    Check the disc isn't dirty or damaged. If it's dirty clean it with a soft none-abrasive cloth.
