Disc drive quit working................ but!!!

So my disc drive wouldn't accept my Lego Marvel, it wouldn't grab it like normal. So I pulled the power supply and after 30 seconds, plugged back in.... and back to business!!

I contacted support and they documented this on my account. He said the ejection arms may have got out of time after playing dvd's, and if someone pulled the disc before fully ejected. By unplugging, he thinks the arms reset.... which I can see happening.
I also got 3 months free Live for being pleasant with him on the phone!! Good support MS!...

Takes a long time to read discs...

The cheap and easy start is to use a DVD cleaner disc to try to clean the disc drive lense. Other than that It could be a damaged or mis-aligned laser in the drive that is VERY tricky to fix. If the cleaner disc won't work just swap out the drive.

Disc drive always spinning

My disc drive is really quite. Now, if you are downloading something the Hard Drive disc might spin but shouldn't be too loud.

If it is making sounds you haven't heard before get it replaced. Use that warranty.

 

That happened to me once, I freaked out and thought my drive was dead, but I did a full reboot (held down power button until it shut down) and it worked fine after it came back on. I figured it was just a software bug so I didn't even bother to contact support.

 

My X1 works fine but there are little light ring scratches all over it on the shiny part lol....and there is like a long scratch right over the xbox one emblem on the top like someone keyed my car lol....you can only see it if your standing real close under
the right lighting but still!!! shouldn't be like that brand new!!!

 

But..................... it did it again.... wouldn't accept a disc until I repowered console by unplugging...... grrrrr
