    Disc drive activating more frequently when it shouldn’t


    I’ve noticed in both beta and delta that my disc drive activates when it has a disc in when I quit a game to the Home Screen doesn’t matter wether it’s digital or disc version of game. Also when I refresh the home from guide option it triggers the disc drive. This shouldn’t be happening. Has anyone else noticed this issue

    Xbox One X buzzing from disc drive while installing

    Check around the surface that the Xbox console is placed on. Loose objects nearby might audibly vibrate when the Xbox disc drive is spinning, if that’s what’s causing the noise.

    During active installations with discs, the drive would spin at the maximum noisiest speed, which is normal. When a disc is used to actually play a game, it is generally quiet.

    Disc drive buzzing/humming really loud. First time used for game.

    The disc drive makes considerably more noise when installing a disc to hard drive,however it would be very quiet when that process has finished,hope that helps.

    I invested in a 500$ Xbox that is supposed to do all that. I shouldn’t have to buy a standalone player when my Xbox is being advertised as such. if I didn’t want a disc drive I would of gotten a digital only console. And it only plays certain Xbox one games and older ones as well which Is bs. It wouldn’t load street fighter anniversary But it loaded doom it wouldn’t load resident evil 2 but it loaded battlefield 2 lol. All of my discs are pristine the series x disc drive has just been bricked by Microsoft to force people to digital

    External hard drive

    the xbox comes with 500GB or 1TB internal storage, when you insert a disc it copies that discs data to the internal hdd thereby taking space.

    adding an external drive gives more storage but you still need to have the disc in the drive to prove you still own the game disc.
