    Hello

    Just recently built a new pc with windows 10. My friends and I do some cross platform gaming and use xbox voice. my question is there seems to be no way to manage voice, like muting chat or muting myself, without the game bar overlay. this is very annoying.
    Before I upgraded i could not use a desktop voice app for xbox so i used my phone and that xbox app. and for some reason that seems easier to use then the game bar. Is there any way to get rid of the game bar and just use an app like the xbox beta app or companion
    app for voice chat while also being able to mute chat or mute myself. Ive tried to disable game bar in windows settings and that doesnt seem to do anything. It just stops me from being able to leave or even receive invites to the voice chat.

    you can use the xbox app for voice chat. I also recommend a head set with volume and mic control built in.

    i disable game bar but then it doesnt show notifications for voice chat invites. also i cant mute the party chat if i need to because there is no option to do that in the app. any thing im missing?

    This is not about the forums. It's the voice chat. When I tried to join voice chat in Game Bar, it closes. When I tried to join voice chat from my Xbox App mobile, it reveals an error.

    Hi,

    So you can start a Voice Chat with another player, and then add other people to that voice chat (or they can join in). Starting a Voice Chat with someone on Windows 10 via the Game Bar is a One-to-one to start, and you can't just start
    an "empty" party as you can on Console unless you use the Console Companion app.

    This page has a few     more details on the Game Bar, but additionally I believe you can still use the Xbox Console Companion App to start a party as well in the more traditional manner.
