Dirt 3 VIP Pass not free ???

We are all happy that those unfortunate VIP Passes are history right now. EA for. ex. offers all VIP Passes for free now for the older games.

It seems Codemasters forgot that, cause they seriously still want nearly 10€ for the Dirt 3 VIP Pass !?

Is there any chance, that this is a mistake and this will be corrected ?!

Given that the VIP pass is required in order to get the full 1000, I would hope that they would make it available just like they did with Dirt 3.

Let's vote for this in the feedback site and maybe they'll listen.

again the VIP Pass for the the actual GwG Dirt: Showdown is no free. If you buy the disc version, the VIP Pass is included.

Please make it free, like you did for Dirt 3 when it was in the GwG Promo !

Here is the response Codemasters gave when asked about multiplayer and the VIP Pass:

"I'm afraid that if you are referring to the Games with Gold version, then the VIP pass is not included." ~Jorn,

It looks like the game should included the VIP Pass. If the game isn't showing the pass for you, go ahead and delete the content from your console and re-download it from your download history.

The suggested solution doesn't allow use of the VIP Pass or grant access to the online multiplayer features (or at least it didn't for me). I received the same email reply from Codemasters Customer Support as others are reporting on Reddit, Major Nelson's
Blog, etc, which is that the version offered in 'Games with Gold' does not include the VIP Pass, which is required to access the online multiplayer features. Although that seems to be at odds from what I have been able to gather since the VIP Pass was to be
made available for new and digital customers. Any further direction on the subject would be greatly appreciated.

This was an issue our team was aware and it should be corrected now. When did you last try deleting the content and re-downloading it? If it was more than a day ago please give it another try, the content available now should have the VIP pass already part
of it.

Thanks for the heads up. I had tried everything this morning with no success. However after reading your reply I went to give it another go. First I decided to clear the Marketplace and System Cache. Afterwards, when I went back to the marketplace I was
pleased to see that the price had been changed to be free for gold members without having to delete and reinstall. Thank you Xbox Support for being at the top of your game.

I guess Codemasters support hasn't gotten the message. I hope their support team doesnt stop people from downloading the pass. A few minutes ago I this response to an email I sent monday.

Thank you for submitting your recent request to Codemasters Customer Services concerning DiRT 3. I'm afraid that the VIP pass is not included in the Games with Gold version. The only way to acquire the VIP pack is via purchase from the Xbox marketplace.

The VIP pass is not free for Silver members !

and I guess it's only free for Gold members during the GwG promo period !

 

I am aware that it is a free game and pass for gold members, hence the name game with gold. On the X1 you do not have to have a sub on each account, just the console. I like many others share the gold with roommates, family and so on. That does not negate
the point that Codemasters is still telling customers that the pass is not included with the game in the game with gold offering. Clearing the caches changed the price on our console to free tho.
