DirectX not being recognized???

Trying to be able to play Halo Wars: Definitive Edition on my PC, just upgraded to windows 10. I downloaded the game and installed it, open it, plays about 2 seconds and then I get a fatal error message "the detected graphics adapter doesn't support the
minimal requirements". So I go back to the store and everything has a green checkmark except for the DirectX. It says that the minimum requirement for the DirectX is 11, so I run the dxdiag command and find out that currently I have DirectX 12 installed???? Why
won't it play!?

Direct X12 Game Changer?

PS4 does not support DX11 or any version of DirectX. Just like Mac and Linux machines don't support DirectX even though they can have the same hardware as Windows machines.

PS4 has its own API that can have the same or similar features to DirectX but it is not DirectX. It's Sony's own implementation of the features specifically for PS4. Just like OpenGL 4.x is equivalent to DirectX 11.x feature wise.

this is an issue I'm having with Halo Wars not Halo 5 issue. I'm not sure if you are implying that they are the same?

I did what the solution is showing in that link. But again when I follow the steps it says that the minimum requirements is a system that runs with DirectX 11.1 or higher and my system has DirectX 12.

 

Thank you for your reply. Even though you already have a DirectX 12 on your system, it has the same troubleshooting steps to resolve Fatal Error on Halo Wars.

the link only show the process of how to find out which version of DirectX is installed. It doesn't have any other steps or options to try and fix it.
