Digital refund with a different card payment

Hi,

If the card is from the same issuer and your account with the issuer is still open you'll still receive the refund to your card even if the old card has expired or was reported lost/stolen.

Both VISA and Mastercard hold records of your previous card/s. While these old cards can't make purchases they can still receive money from refunds.

When you get refunded, it gets refunded to the choice of payment you made. So if was a card payment it would be refunded back on the card. If it was gift card then the refund goes back to Microsoft Account balance. For you, then the refund should go back on the Verizon billing.

Any refunds are sent to the original payment method. So as you purchased the game using your debit card, that’s where the refund should be sent to. It might take a few working days to receive it, perhaps even longer depending on your bank.

The only time where a refund would go directly to your Microsoft account balance is when you use a Microsoft or Xbox gift card.
