Digital games price's.

So I am puzzled at how this can be. I am referring to the price of Activision games on the Xbox store. Every other digital game soon or later drops in price if only by £20 but it still drops. You look at other Xbox 360 title prices and they are around £10
- £20, but you look at Black Ops 2 and it an astonishing £39.99 ****. That is £10 off full retail price are you kidding me really a five year old game is still forty pound come Microsoft what the **** are you playing at. You want your consumer base to give
into buying their games digitally but the prices are that high for a 5 year old game. This make no sense.

I know what you are saying about shopping around for the best price's (buy and selling price's), most people don't honestly do that though. They grab the game they want to trade, go into town to somewhere like Game and do a trade. I know it's better to go
on eBay or shop around but most people can't be bothered or don't want to wait for day's for a game to get delivered.

This is a break down of the price's in total

xbox one basic console : $399

sunset overdrive : $60

total price : $458

preorderd console : $399

including sunset overdrive and extra dlc.

 

Prices are mainly determined by the publishers, not Microsoft. They tend to keep them at MSRP for as long as they can whereas retailers have room to change their prices. More popular games tend to stay at a higher price longer than other games.

 

So why is the The Witcher 3 £25 with it being only 2 years old?

 

There's no one here that can really answer that for you. Like I said, it's generally up to the publishers.

 

Witcher 2 is nowhere nearly as popular as cod series

 

The witcher series in 3 games has cost a lot more that the first three games of COD. COD is no longer what it used to be it does not even have 30% of it's player base across all platforms. My statement still stands how does Microsoft expect us to drop physical
copies of games for their digital counterparts and them allow Activision to have 5 year old game still sell for £40 when you could pick up a physical copy for £5 maybe less. It is a joke. Yes I understand that the publisher has control over the price but you
would be stupid to think Microsoft have no say in the matter. It is their platform they will not reduce the price of it because Microsoft make more money off of digital games than they do off of physical ones.
