Digital Games + Disc Installs ( Slow Speeds)

    Hello,

After an unsuccessful attempt at using the chat support feature, where I got cable company runaround that the issue is line "interference" and having too many open browsers on my PC ( seriously?) I am now trying here for any thoughts.

When downloading a digital game or even updating a game or DLC and what not, I have not once capped 2.5Mbps, it usually bounces between 1-2mbps. This issue has been going on for as long as I can remember, i usually download stuff overnight, otherwise I am
annoyed at watching the bar creep slowly. I constantly check my bandwidth usage and the numbers are always the same.

So onto my network statistics straight from my xbox one:

    Download Speed: 22.21Mbps

    Upload speed: 2.50Mbps

    Packet loss: 0%

    MTU 1480

    Latency 86ms

    Wireless Strength: 89%

My Nat is open, I have everything open on my firewall regarding the xbox, and have it set to highest priority through my router. I have tried everything from hard reboots, disconnecting the power cord, clearing the mac, DNS, DMZ you name it I have tried
    it.

I am unable to find anything or get any help regarding this, so hopefully someone has a fix.

    Thanks

    :)

Battlefield 1 installation is taking forever.

If this is a digital game then it has to download and install the game. It will also install any necessary updates. If it is a disc game it will install it from the disc and install any necessary updates. If it is a disc game you might be able to speed
it up some by putting your console in offline mode. A slow internet will definitely have an impact on the download/installation of games.

    Hope this helps. Good Luck!!

  3. updates

Are we talking Game digital installs, Game disc installs or Updating the system installs?

If it's not Game disc installs, then what download speed is the Xbox working at and what internet speed do you have in your home?

Is it setup to use Wi-Fi or Ethernet cable?

Games running on their Real Resolution

The download times are slow, you can speed up the disc install speed a bit though, go to network settings and take the console offline while installing a disc, or take out the lan cable if relevant, that way the game does not install and update at the same
    time,

As for res, my xbox is set to 1080p, and it's fine.

    Xbox 1 useless

It does not take 3 days to install a game.

If you are downloading the game then it's an issue with your broadband, maybe the download speed.

If you are installing it from disc then it will need an update as well, which if you do at the same time will slow the install down, especially if you have poor broadband speeds.

If it's a disc then install it while not connected to live then download the update after.

The process is the same on the PS4.

Download game when it is on a disk

the files are too large and the read speed is too slow for a game to play directly off of a disc (not disk) so that is the reason why games need to be installed to the HDD
