    digital game and dlc won't install then freeze my xbox


    When I try to install 7 Days to Die or the Witcher 3 free DLC Fool's gold It will stop at 0% and then freeze my Xbox for 5-15 min then it would unfreeze and say installation stopped it only happens with these downloads and I tried ever thang from restarting
    my Xbox clearing local saved games plz help.

    If your game freezes at the starting menu AND you've downloaded DLC then read this.

    I've witnessed this problem more than once before, although I am unsure of what the cause is I can only guess it is because of the constant turning off of plugs to my xbox, just like how if you are offline and set your xbox's time it will be reset to 2005
    if you turn off the xbox by the plug.

    So anyway to get to the point, if you begin the game and then it says 'Loading downloaded content' but then freezes (you will know when it freezes because you cannot hear the music in the background, also pressing the 'home' button on your xbox won't show
    up). Then all you have to do is simply go back to your install disc and re-install the DLC...what it has done is completely erased your DLC despite having it saved in your storage section on your xbox.

    The install loading screen will pop up and seem to take a while, there are times when it won't freeze but it will take a very long time (the average wait time is 5 mins) if it takes up to 10 mins or more then I suggest you turn off your xbox and then retry,
    I did have this problem and then after my 3rd retry it loaded pretty darn fast.

    Re-install the DLC and viola! it should now work.

    Can disc installs run without the disc if you have a DLC code?

    It's not a "DLC code", just a digital copy of the game.

    Yes, one can use the disc to install a game, then activate a digital copy. The digital copy will not need to re-download, it'll automatically use the disc install.

    The console will detect that you have the digital version of the game that is installed on your console if you try to launch the game and it will automatically launch the digital version. You will have to uninstall it first before you can install the game through the disc version.
    That won't make any difference. The disc is just a medium to install the game. Since the they already own the digital license it won't make any difference of how the game is installed, it will still be owned digitally.

    With basic install you mean the regular version of the game?, all dlc and add ons are digital, even if you get the disc with a special edition, the disc only works for the license but all the game is actually digital, if you buy your license on the MS
    store you won't have to download the game, it would work with all you currently have.

    I do have digital titles. I havent tried it yet but the DLC packs for Black Ops 3 will download for me. I managed to get Halo 5 and Mortal Kombat installed but no other game. I just got my XBOX One S exchanged and I'm still having the same problem. I'd really

    Also, new issue. My XBOX One S controller won't power on. Even with new batteries.

    Game pass perk Warframe®: Xbox Starter Bundle problem

    The perk is for Xbox only, not for PC. Also, it's not DLC, so it won't install anything. These are in game items which do not need to be installed as they are unlocked in game for you.
