Digital Exchange in the Microsoft Store

I preorder a game through the microsoft store on xbox.

Since then, I have made the transition to pc, and the microsoft store confirmed the preorder and bought the game.

I went to play it on xbox and realized that it was unplayable because of the input lag on xbox, and wanted to see if I could get the game (Call of Duty: Modern Warfare) on pc instead.

I saw that it was not a play anywhere title, and I'm unsure why it was ineligible for refund (probably because it counted time played during the beta as actual gameplay time),

but since the xbox uses the microsoft store, I wanted to know if I could get an exchange so that I own the PC version of the game on the microsoft store instead of the xbox version of the game?

We will not be able to assist with that through the forums, and simply exchanging the game for the PC version will not be possible with the Support team either. It looks like you took the proper steps in requesting the refund but received a notice that the
refund is not possible. I would advise that you respond to the email that was sent out to you so that you can further discuss the refund with the agent that assisted with the refund request.

then you can explore the FAQ or directly contact an operator at "contact us" and follow the below steps:

Billing & accounts
see other option -> payments and billing
show contact options
choose the way of contact that you prefer (chat or call)

But maybe the Input lag on the xbox is only because of the

Live Service Warning?

There's currently no way to exchange a game other than requesting a refund for the original purchase and then repurchasing the game for the correct platform.

As far as being ineligible, refunds are typically only given if the purchase was made in the past 14 days and you played less than 2 hours. So depending on how long ago you pre-ordered, that may be why it was not eligible.
